If the idea of obligatory schooling was based on good intentions in the time of Charlemagne, the school rapidly became the major tool for the formating of consciousnesses. Still today, the education systems are directly inspired by the 18th century prussian model: the child is a raw material to mold into a obedient and productive instrument in the hands of the elites.

In our present time, a fundamental reform of the underlying principles of our education systems should be an absolute priority, to prepare our youth to the inimaginable challenges of the coming decades.

In this process of education reform, the first step is to recognize that today''s school has become hazardous, because it perpetuates concepts of an age gones since a long time – concepts that proved to be nocive for all life – rather than encourage students to challenge the present paradigm.
